I learned about this book from a VRET training offered by the author. I found it very informative and a must-read for any serious therapist who believes in cutting-edge treatments. Virtual reality is proven by multiple legitimate scientific studies to help clients heal. Dr. McMahon is a pioneer in using VR for therapy and is an invaluable resource.

This book is an excellent guide, both for therapists who would like to incorporate virtual reality into their practice, as well as for those who are curious of the technology and its usefulness as a supplement to therapy. The author has explored and tried most of the available products available on the market in depth and provides a step-by-step guide that is scientifically sound, concise and easy to read, incorporating both the scientific basis and empirical examples from her own practice. The book outlines chapter-by-chapter how VR can be used to treat different types of anxiety disorders and breaks down into easy steps how you can start taking advantage of this cutting-edge technology, even if you are entirely new to VR and have never put on a VR headset. She explains what to consider when choosing between the available products and how to combine them to provide tailor-made environments suited to your patients’ individual needs. The book also includes a number of additional useful resources including checklists, protocols, and answers to frequently asked clinical and practical questions. Highly recommended!
